BATHING GODDESSES

Een foto met een verhaal. Begin augustus liep ik de contest op IC weer eens door. Wat een leuk initiatief.

Prachtige platen en ook veel van onze vrouwelijke fotografen doen er aan mee op IC.

Op dat moment was ik net weer bezig om van wat mislukte foto's weer iets bruikbaars proberen te maken. Het was een gedeelte van een fontein die in een buitenwijk van Torremolinos staat. Ik zag bij toeval in mijn archief ook nog een foto van een

17e eeuws schilderij en toen ontstond het idee: Zouden meerdere dames van IC niet als badende dame willen figureren?

Ik begon zomaar met een paar dames te emailen en al snel zat ik aan het redelijk haalbare aantal van zes dames. Redelijk haalbaar betekent eigenlijk in dit geval, dat iedereen er redelijk duidelijk op komt en ook in de foto iets kan betekenen.

Men kan er wel 50 "inplakken" maar dat zegt ook niets meer. Bovendien.... bleek dat 6 foto's met allerlei verschillende belichtingen, kleuren, achtergronden en kwaliteit opnieuw bewerkt moesten worden.

What a nice initiative !

Excellent pictures and also a lot of our female photographers who do the contest at IC.

At that moment I was trying again to reform and modelling old failed photographs. I saw a part of a fountain that stands in a suburb of Torremolinos (Spain). Also I saw by coincidence a part of a 17th century painting in my archive and the idea was born.

Would it be possible that more female IC members should express theirs willingness to pose as a bathing lady?

Eigenlijk een giga-klus, want ook de achtergrond in de uiteindelijke foto moest telkens worden aangepast.

Het resultaat mag er zijn. Niet wat ik heb gemaakt van alle foto's tesamen, maar het enorme plezier wat ik eraan heb beleefd dat iedereen enthousiast direct mee wilde doen en zelfs de pose's wisten aan te passen. Vergeet niet linksonder het grotere beeld te bekijken/downloaden, want in de kleinere foto's mis je toch soms wat details.

Kortom een echte COPRO ! Nogmaals wil ik dan ook alle dames opnieuw bedanken voor hun spontaniteit en enthousiasme en met name voor het

insturen van hun foto, muziek en ideeen.

Chosen at random I emailed some ladies and quickly I had a reasonable number of six ladies. Reasonable in that way means in fact that every lady must be a clear and visible part as a person in the picture and be a contribution as a whole. Of course I could take 50 persons and stick it together, but the picture would be meaningless.

Besides it turned out that i had to adapt the six (self-made by the model) photographs of the models. Each picture had of course different exposures, colours, backgrounds and a quality in size and pixels.

In fact a giga-job, because I had to change the general background over and over. I'm satisfied about the result. Not the result of the defintive adaption, but about the huge joy and the enormous enthusiasm of the participants. Also the instant willing to be a participant and the own initiative to change the pose as if they are a bathing lady.

In short I can say this is a real COPRO!. Again I will thank all ladies for their spontaneity and enthusiasm

and in particular for sending me their own made photograph, choice of music and ideas.

Dit is overigens de originele fontein die in een wijkje in Torremolinos staat. Jammer genoeg had ik 'm niet helemaal gefotografeerd omdat er mensen voor stonden. Dus dat wordt even goed sleutelen aan het totaal.

This is the original fountain in a suburb of Torremolinos.

It's a pity that I couldn't take the whole fountain because a lot of people were standing in front of it. So I had to manage a lot in it.
